A Cheese Sandwich with a difference!

You Will Need

  • 4 slices of crusty bread, buttered on one side
  • Salted butter
  • 1 punnet micro garlic chives
  • 4 slices of cheese, we used Leerdammer Original


Nothing beats a cheese sandwich done well. With just a few ingredients – fresh bread, beautiful cheese and a punnet of garlic chives – you will have a simple sandwich with a tasty twist in seconds. Want to know our flavour enhancing tip? Choose a bread topped with seeds, such as pumpkin or sesame, and ensure the cheese is at room temperature.


  1. Place 2 slices of the crusty bread on a board and butter side up. Top with a generous portion of garlic chives, slightly fold two slices of cheese and top with the remaining bread, this time butter side down. Repeat for the second sandwich.

Instead of buttering the bread why not try spreading with sweet chutney: mango, apple, greengage or beetroot.
